Yesterday on our walk in the park we were joined by a couple of extra Greyhound friends and Monte the corgi. We had 3 big, black boys there:-) And Beryl and Sally. Lucy is still nursing her cut leg.
The Greyhounds
Fish has met Frankie probably 3 times before and more or less ignored him each time. But yesterday he suddenly 'saw' Frankie for the very first time, with the usual Greyhound reaction, obsession:-) We call Frankie the 'Greyhound Magnet'. And this is a short video clip of Fish, Frankie and Beryl, who had to supervise her brother playing with another dog!
Shortly before I took this video Fatima had rescued Fish from the river. He'd gone in after Frankie, fell in a deep hole, swam to shore but couldn't get up the bank because of all the branches there. I think he was very pleased to be safe and sound again and perhaps his 'near death' experience enabled him to see clearer, who knows? But he had a great time and I'm sure he slept well last night:-)
My kids sure did! (excuse Frankie doing a revelation of his own!)
Guess what Beryl and Frankie are having for tea? Frankie is having raw venison mince mixed up with stuff he doesn't like as much and Beryl is just about finished a bowl of venison casserole mixed up with stuff she doesn't like as much:-) Yes, I had to casserole some for Beryl as no way was she going to eat it raw! And it tastes mighty fine if I do say so myself, lol! Seeing as it's just cooked slowly with a packet oxtail soup it was safe for me to try it.
I wish she usually did!! She's quite a finicky eater. I'd love to feed her raw but she prefers her food cooked. And I've never seen her eat a meal as quickly as she did that venison casserole:-) But it isn't going to last forever:-(
Greyhounds are just not much fun for other breeds. "You run and I'll chase you. I will never repay the favor by playing the role of the bait, but I will focus on your every move."
Thanks Jen, I'm trying to make the blog more 'video friendly':)
Frankie loves Beryl chasing him at home, he can corner better! But at the park they do more 'pitbulling' as we call it. Or he just waits and heads the greys off:-)
Our guys are happy to share 'their' beach with other greyhounds ... even non-greyhounds:-) We'd enjoy running around it with you. We're hoping it lasts for a long time as they LOVE it. It was only created a month or so ago when the river flooded, so we don't want any more floods to wash it away.

Great video, always love to see Greys running a muck! Beryl is like Rex, cleans that dinner right up :-)

Ha ha! Love the pics of the guys/gals lying on the sofa! Thats what greyhounds love!
They sure tore it up! No wonder they inhaled their dinner after all that fun!
Love the new look and colors.

The video is great-my dogs and I wish we could join you. Nothing gives me more pleasure than taking my dogs out and watching them play together.
What a great stretch of river to play in - that sandy beach would be a hit with our dogs...
