We went somewhere different today:-)

Yes, Louie did get through that little hole - reluctantly:-)
We went to a place about 25 minutes from home where there are plenty of places for the dogs to wander around and a river, yay!  They didn't do much racing as there were so many new places to smell and investigate.  I was a bit worried about letting Frankie off lead as I thought he'd probably go hunting never to be seen again but he was very good and only disappeared a few times and soon came back to see why we were taking so long:-)  And when he got zapped by the electric fence he stayed VERY close to me for about 10 minutes, lol.  I took about 100 photos but most of them were of dogs and women's backsides.  Here are a few that aren't though:-)

Girls 'playing'!

Beryl and Lucy off the beaten track

Frankie is glad he's not in the middle of that!

Rachel and the greys

Hmm, sawdust, that's very interesting!

Little Lucy is having a wonderful day:-)
And didn't we all.  Tired, happy kids tonight.  Life is good:-)

I took a bit of video which isn't very good, by the time I'd stabilised it and zoomed in it looks pretty blurry.  Just greyhounds (and Frankie) mooching around.

20kgs of Power Mouse!

Aren't I pretty?
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting and taking a few photos of Power Mouse, pet name Rita. And yes, she really is only 20kgs (44lbs) of Greyhound!!

It's hard to get a comparison of size without another normal sized Greyhound standing next to her as she looks bigger than she is by herself but I think if Beryl was standing there it would be a similar size difference to her and Frankie.  She's tiny!  But very cute:-)

It won't be long before Rita is living the pet life:-)  She's totally charming and loves people and cuddles.

I also got to meet Shannon, a lovely little blue girl with the cutest ears that I couldn't get a decent photo of!
Shannon
I'm pretty too:-)
Another little sweetie who will make someone very happy.

And then there was Muriel, a very lovable black girl.  What a gorgeous name:-)  And her brother, Spike, a big, black boy, who is a total cuddle monster.  Ah, it was great to meet some of the present greyhounds in the GAP kennels.  BUT I also got cuddled by Bailey, the cat, who sat on my lap for about half an hour.  Frankie was horrified when I got home to smell CAT on me!  Dog smells are fine, but I nearly got banished from the house for smelling of cat, lol.

Fish Has a Revelation!

Yesterday on our walk in the park we were joined by a couple of extra Greyhound friends and Monte the corgi.  We had 3 big, black boys there:-)  And Beryl and Sally.  Lucy is still nursing her cut leg.
The Greyhounds
Fish has met Frankie probably 3 times before and more or less ignored him each time.   But yesterday he suddenly 'saw' Frankie for the very first time, with the usual Greyhound reaction, obsession:-)  We call Frankie the 'Greyhound Magnet'.  And this is a short video clip of Fish, Frankie and Beryl, who had to supervise her brother playing with another dog!

Shortly before I took this video Fatima had rescued Fish from the river.   He'd gone in after Frankie, fell in a deep hole, swam to shore but couldn't get up the bank because of all the branches there.  I think he was very pleased to be safe and sound again and perhaps his 'near death' experience enabled him to see clearer, who knows?  But he had a great time and I'm sure he slept well last night:-)
My kids sure did!  (excuse Frankie doing a revelation of his own!)
Guess what Beryl and Frankie are having for tea?  Frankie is having raw venison mince mixed up with stuff he doesn't like as much and Beryl is just about finished a bowl of venison casserole mixed up with stuff she doesn't like as much:-)  Yes, I had to casserole some for Beryl as no way was she going to eat it raw!  And it tastes mighty fine if I do say so myself, lol!  Seeing as it's just cooked slowly with a packet oxtail soup it was safe for me to try it.
That's a very clean  bowl!

The Things We Do For The Kids!

It's BIG!!!
Yesterday I was SO lucky to be given a huge leg of venison for the kids:-)  Frankie was very impressed with my skills as a hunter/gatherer!
This is all mine????
A bit over an hour later this is the result ....
13 kgs of venison:-)
I am going to get a good knife ( the little one makes hard work of it!!) so that if I am lucky enough to be given some more it won't be such a mission:-)

So, what am I doing this afternoon?  Well, walk the kids soon and then I'll be slicing and dicing venison and stir frying Beryl's, then freezing it in meal lots.  Her majesty will only eat raw beef, nothing else raw.  Frankie, being a feral little bloke, is more than happy to eat it au naturale!
