It's BIG!!! |
Yesterday I was SO lucky to be given a huge leg of venison for the kids:-) Frankie was very impressed with my skills as a hunter/gatherer!

This is all mine???? | |
|
A bit over an hour later this is the result ....
|
13 kgs of venison:-) |
|
I am going to get a good knife ( the little one makes hard work of it!!) so that if I am lucky enough to be given some more it won't be such a mission:-)
So, what am I doing this afternoon? Well, walk the kids soon and then I'll be slicing and dicing venison and stir frying Beryl's, then freezing it in meal lots. Her majesty will only eat raw beef, nothing else raw. Frankie, being a feral little bloke, is more than happy to eat it au naturale!

Wowzers! You are officially a much better dog mom than me!
Lol, well it's hard to turn down free dog food even if it does require some effort on my part to make it edible ... although Frankie would probably be happy to munch on the leg as is. Having spent the past hour washing Beryl's blood off the walls she'll be VERY lucky to get stir fried venison tonight!
Wow, that's some pretty nifty carving you have got going on over there! The 'kids' will enjoy all that for their dinners. :-)
Lol, it took me so long to wash down the walls that I didn't have time to cook any for Beryl. Frankie got a few chunks, he's pretty low maintenance:-) My poor little knife is too blunt now to do stir fry slicing!
My God Sue -you are amazing! This carving is PERFECT! OMG! I just hack it off in all directions wiht the knife, and then use an AXE to break the bones! And needless to say, i cant even imagine doing this on my kitchen bench!!!! LOL
I have to do it on the tree stump outside on my lawn!
you are GOOD!
Lol, I don't have a tree stump or I probably would use that. And it is hacked off in all directions but it tastes the same to the kids:-)
Doing the Pet Blog Hop and decided to stop by. I can only say Wow! There would of been a gallon of drool on the floor if my gang were getting this kind of treat.

YIKES!!!! I wasn't expecting that! I'm a vegetarian and feed raw food to my guys, but I don't think I could process a deer leg. I'm impressed. LOL :-)
I couldn't turn away about 2 weeks of yummy food for the kids:-) I'll do just about anything for them. Frankie was nearly drooling, Beryl couldn't see what he was going on about!
